Clinical Placement Services

Your coursework is 100% online, but that doesn't mean you'll be alone. Here's how we support students every step of the way:

  • Expert Faculty Support – Learn from doctoral-prepared instructors who are committed to your success.

  • Hands-On Campus Visit – Build practical skills in our nursing resource and simulation center and connect face-to-face with faculty and peers.

  • Clinical Placement Assistance – Our dedicated team helps match you with local clinical opportunities and preceptors.

Below are answers to commonly asked questions about clinical placement.

01

How does the clinical placement process work?

You’ll work with our dedicated clinical placement team who will walk you through the process and be your primary point of contact. Based on your goals and where you live, your Student Success Coach will collaborate with you to identify an appropriate site and preceptor for you within a reasonable driving distance from your home.

02

How should I prepare for nursing clinicals?

You will be in close communication with your Student Success Coach all the way through to graduation. They will ensure you complete all clinical requirements and meet deadlines, and will answer your questions, verify your clearance requirements, and walk you through the nursing clinicals checklist.

03

When will I receive my clinical placement details?

You will receive a notification from your Student Success Coach prior to each clinical start date. Once the placement has been confirmed and communicated, you are encouraged to begin working directly with your clinical preceptor to establish a schedule.

04

What can I expect during my nursing clinicals?

All clinical nursing experiences are slightly different because nurses work in a variety of health care facility environments. You will begin your clinical rotations after the required background checks, physical examinations, and Clinical Skills Competency Intensive have been successfully completed, and you receive “approval to start” your clinical placement from Felician. During your clinical rotation, you will be under the close supervision of your preceptor and Felician University clinical faculty.
