Your coursework is 100% online, but that doesn’t mean you’re alone. During your graduate nursing education, you’ll receive focused attention from our doctoral-prepared faculty. You’ll take part in a campus visit that includes practical skill-building in our nursing resource and simulation center while interacting face-to-face with instructors and fellow students. You’ll also be connected with our clinical placement team who will help find local clinical opportunities for you to learn from our experienced professionals or preceptors.
You’ll work with our dedicated clinical placement team who will walk you through the process and be your primary point of contact. Based on your goals and where you live, your Student Success Coach will collaborate with you to identify an appropriate site and preceptor for you within a reasonable driving distance from your home.
You will be in close communication with your Student Success Coach through graduation. They will ensure you complete all clinical requirements and meet deadlines, and will answer your questions, verify your clearance requirements, and walk you through the nursing clinicals checklist.
You will receive a notification from your Student Success Coach prior to each clinical start date. Once the placement has been confirmed and communicated, you are encouraged to begin working directly with your clinical preceptor to establish a schedule.
All clinical nursing experiences are slightly different because nurses work in a variety of health care facilities. You will begin your clinical rotations after the required background checks, physical examinations, and Clinical Skills Competency Intensive have been successfully completed, and you receive “approval to start” your clinical placement from Felician. During your clinical rotation, you will be under the close supervision of your preceptor and Felician University clinical faculty.
